APMSS strongly believes that it has an obligation to help educate future professionals as part of our community service. APMSS tries to provide a realistic experience for students in college and post-graduate students who will be entering a clinical field or the business world. Students are hired for an internship that relates to their field of interest. The interns are expected to perform assigned tasks and follow the rules that every employee must abide. Throughout the years, we have hired interns from UF, FSU, Harvard, Central Florida University, University of Pennsylvania, Heritage College, and FGCU.
We are proud to have followed our interns as they accomplish their educational and career objectives. The students who have worked for APMSS leave at the end of the summer learning the most essential tasks needed for all their future endeavors: faxing, copying, and transferring phone calls. They also gain a perspective on organizational behavior and the challenges of working in a high volume, high tech facility using EMR and EPM.
Danielle Daitch, Clinical and Clinical Research
Another Dr. Daitch! APMSS had the future "Dr. Daitch," Danielle Daitch, working with the clinical staff as an intern after her graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in May of this year. Danielle is the second generation of Daitches to attend Jefferson Medical College. Her father graduated in the Class of 1984. She is currently attending her first year of medical school at JMC, and she should graduate in the Class of 2014. The big question: Will Danielle decide to also specialize in "pain management"? Stay tuned to the www.apmss.net website to find out!
David Silver, Clinical Research
David, our 2009 pharmacy intern, returns to his last year at UF in the graduate school of pharmacy. He will receive his doctorate of pharmacy next spring. David established protocols for various non-narcotic drugs, and he lead the clinical research project on a drug that may help detox patients who are on high levels of narcotics.
Rachel Amalo, Business Department
Rachel Amalo, our summer 2008 intern, graduated from the Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania in May 2010. Her lovely parents traveled from Uganda to attend the graduation and festivities in Philadelphia. Since 2008, Rachel passed all her actuarial exams while working 20 hours a week and graduating with high honors from Wharton. Rachel procured a position as an actuary at a prestigious firm in New York City. Rachel was instrumental in analyzing all the work orders and application costs of our new facility.
